Summary
ReallyFreePDF is a set of browser-based PDF tools. When you merge, split, or compress a PDF, the file bytes are read and processed locally in your browser (including Web Workers and WebAssembly). We do not upload your PDF contents to ReallyFreePDF servers for processing.
What we do not collect from your PDFs
- We do not receive the contents of the PDF files you open.
- We do not store your documents on our servers.
- We do not create accounts for file processing.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools → Network panel, then run a tool. You should not see your PDF file bytes posted to our origin — only page assets such as HTML, scripts, and WASM modules from our CDN/hosting.
What may be collected
Hosting and delivery
Like most websites, our hosting provider (for example Cloudflare Pages / CDN) may process standard technical request data to deliver the site — such as IP address, user agent, URL requested, and timestamps. That data is used for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. It does not include the contents of PDFs you process in the browser.
Analytics (if enabled)
If we enable privacy-conscious analytics in the future, we will update this policy and describe what is measured (typically aggregated page views, not document contents).
Advertising (if enabled)
If we show ads (for example Google AdSense), third-party ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies on their side, subject to their policies and your browser/consent settings. Ad scripts are separate from PDF processing. We will not use your PDF contents for advertising.
Local processing details
Tools may use open-source libraries that run on your device, such as pdf-lib, PDF.js, and qpdf compiled to WebAssembly. Temporary data may exist in browser memory or temporary objects while a job runs, then is discarded when you leave the page or clear the tool state — subject to normal browser behavior.
Children
ReallyFreePDF is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the PDF tools.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves (for example when ads or analytics are added). The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
